How are you planning to make the site popular? A big mistake many new websites make is not considering how to market the website. Unless you have a truly fantastic idea and are extremely lucky, you are probably going to need to hire an SEO company or a PPC agency.



Register your domain name: These days, just about any combination of words that you may think of, have already been registered in the .co.uk and .com extensions, so think hard about what to call yourself.



How are you going to design and develop it? Small scale business may be looking for an off the shelf solution with a CMS that they can predominantly install, configure and update themselves. Larger concepts may be looking for a more unique presence and so require the services of a digital creative agency.



How are you going to update it? If you have hired someone else to create the website for you, you will need to decide if you want access to update it yourself, or if you are going to keep the agency on to manage all the updates for you



Keeping it fresh: The internet is all about the very latest and freshest information – sites that regularly update their content are more likely to bring Google back to check their content than sites that have not changed for years.
